FAQs

How do you scan a QR code?

Open your phone’s camera or the Valid QR Scan scanner, then point it at the whole QR code. Keep it steady and review the decoded text or link before opening it. In the browser scanner, allow camera access when prompted.

How do I scan a QR code on Android?

Open the Camera app and point it at the code. If nothing appears, check your camera’s QR settings or try Google Lens or the QR scanner in Quick Settings, where available. Features vary by phone; you can also use Valid QR Scan in your browser.

How do I scan a QR code on iPhone?

Open Camera in Photo mode and hold the QR code inside the frame. Tap the link that appears after checking the destination. You can also use Code Scanner in Control Center.

Is a QR code generator safe?

Safety depends on the service and what you encode. Valid QR Scan generates codes in your browser without uploading the QR content for processing. A QR code is not encryption, anyone with the image can read its contents, including a WiFi password.

How do I scan a WiFi QR code?

Point a compatible phone camera or WiFi scanner at the code, check the network name, and confirm the connection. A browser scanner can read the network details but cannot directly join the network. Only connect to networks you trust.

How do I scan a WiFi QR code on iPhone?

Open Camera, point it at the WiFi QR code, and tap the network prompt to join. Make sure WiFi is enabled and you are within range. If no prompt appears, check that the code contains WiFi settings and that the password is current.

How do I scan a QR code from a photo or screenshot?

Open the Valid QR Scan scanner and choose the saved image on your device. Keep the complete code and its blank border visible. The image is decoded locally in your browser, so you can read a code shown on the same phone.

Can I scan a QR code without an app?

Yes. Many phones can scan QR codes with their built in camera. You can also open Valid QR Scan in a browser and use the camera or select an image without installing an extra app.

How do I scan a QR code on a laptop?

Open Valid QR Scan in your browser and select an image containing the code, or start the camera and allow webcam access. For a code on your laptop screen, save a screenshot and select that file.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

Clean the lens, improve the lighting, and keep the entire code and its blank border in view. Avoid glare and blurry images. If the browser camera will not start, check camera permissions or select a saved image instead.

How do I create a QR code for free?

Open the Valid QR Scan generator, choose a content type, and enter your link, text, or WiFi details. Download the code and test it before sharing. No account is required; anyone who scans the code can read the information you put in it.

Do QR codes expire or stop working?

Static QR codes have no built in expiry date, but their linked websites or files can become unavailable. WiFi codes stop connecting if the network details change. Dynamic codes from other services may depend on an active subscription or redirect service.

Install Valid QR Scan

In your browser menu, choose “Install app” or “Add to Home Screen”. On iPhone or iPad, open Share, then Add to Home Screen. In Safari on Mac, use File, then Add to Dock.

Visit once online and wait for “Offline tools ready”. Scanning and generation can then work without a connection. Opening a web destination still needs internet.
